Hero Online, found at www.netgame.com, is 100% free to download and play, but there's the option of paying for really nice items (how else would netgame make their money?). You can get any item bought for real $ with game gold as well, you just have to find the right person.

It has everything that all good MMORPGs have: leveling, seperate character classes, seperate jobs, an active and diverse economy, house/guild system, 2 seperate factions, frequent events/faction wars, blacksmith/crafting, pet system, and some beautiful and diverse armor/weapons (that change appearance with every upgrade and gear change).

There are also items (albeit expensive ones) that reset skills, stats, and your job (effectively meaning you don't have to level a whole new character again, just drop a bunch of gold and you can reset everything but your character class).

I'm on a lot because I work at a place where I don't do much, but I'm on EST USA time. I usually play on Dragon 2 server on characters named Tuer and TomMarvoloRiddle, you can whisper me there.

When you register don't close the activation page, you can't get it back and will have to make a new account. The activation email always seems to end up in my spam, so check there if you don't get it right away.
