Disgaea is great.
The fact that you have played a Suikoden gets you props... however...
Suikoden IV is the WORST of the series.
So my best reccomendation is Suikoden 2 (best console RPG of all time hands doowwwwn), then Suikoden 5, Suikoden 3, and Suikoden 1. Every one of them is better than FF7 and FF4. FF6 ties Suikoden 5 and 3 though. Suikoden 2 beats out FF6 by a bit.. while Suikoden 4 (the one you played) is down the list a ways on par with FF7.
