Just watched Yuna send off the folks who died after the second attack of sin.

Awesome.

One of the most memorable CG scenes of any RPG in my opinion.

Yup, especially because if you'd never played it before you're still in the dark about what Yuna is, and what she does. . I'm trying to get my fix now to avoid shelling out 60 bones for the remastered version.

How is Lightning Returns thus far?

It's only going to cost $40 for both X and X-2 together; I'll definitely be picking it up, main reason being that the international content will be included in this release. Dark Aeons and whatnot.

Lightning Returns... eh. It's engagement is underwhelming, I feel like the entire game is comprised of sidequests with little or no direction, beating it without a guide would be near impossible. Without spoiling much, the game itself is timed. There are abilities and farming methods to mitigate the countdown by "stopping time" but all in all your entire Final Fantasy experience runs on a timer resulting in a Game Over if you run out. Game Over results in 1) restarting the game entirely or 2), the more practical route, to restart the game with all of your previous stats, items, whatever, enabling you to rush through the parts that probably cost you all that time, sort of like Majora's Mask.

It's a chore to start up and play so I've had maybe three sessions and am 17 hours in. I'll definitely be trying to come as close as I can to 100%ing it but I don't feel the joy I felt playing XIII or XIII-2.

A timed rpg? That's oxymoronic at the very core.

I didn't know FFx and x-2 came as a pack, I've played through x 3 times in my life, but I've never even attempted x-2. I will also pick it up

I do not yet have a PS4, but to any of you who may GoHastings has the FFXV Pre-order for $40.

http://www.gohastings.com/product/GAME/PS4-Final-Fantasy-XV/sku/291260452.uts?siteID=lw9MynSeamY-zGlR0VQi.rkUFv9cGnkeSg&ls_affid=lw9MynSeamY&creative=10&offer=271612&source=LinkShare#.UxTH7oVJnoY

Sadly, the release date is still December 31, 2014

Heh, I work at Hastings. Typically Amazon is more rewarding with pre-orders so I'll have to decide whether I want an employee discount or a limited edition copy or something.

Edit: Maybe I'll be ready to purchase a PS4 by then as well, I know they'll soon be releasing the driver update that enables the system to handle PS3 games but there's still the issue of only being able to play PS4 online with other PS4 owners, PS3/PS4 running off of two different networks that to my knowledge aren't compatible.
