You can't actually kill it. Once it gets low it just flies away.

Not sure what the scaling is exactly as it changes weapon to weapon I'm sure.
But if you're going Str for instance, if you infuse a weapon with Heavy gem, the scaling will go up (C to B, B to A, etc)

i'm trying to plan some high damage builds but it's hard to know the end result without knowing the disparity between base damage and str/dex/faith/int scaling damage to weapon

A fully upgraded weapon will have a little more scaling than base if you have S (at 60 stat points)
2 handed will be a little more on scaling

Upgrading the weapon is responsible for the most damage on it until very late game

Weapons that upgrade with Twinkling Titanite are harder to upgrade (unique weapons)

Here is my 2 hand build at lvl 95 (the level I was after beating the last boss)
I use a shield I think is called Grass Crest Shield that passively increases stamina recovery (but I don't actually hold the shield it's just equipped)

what do you make of yorms machete?

Incredibly strong base damage but only goes up to A scaling at +5
After 40 strength, Fume will do more damage at +5 with it's S scaling

If you're sitting around 40 strength and +3, they'll probably be around equal.

You won't be able to upgrade both to +5 in 1 playthrough because Twinkling Titanite is a lot more rare than Titanite Shards/Chunks
So if you decide to go with a 2 hander you have to decide wisely
(Where as with 1 handers you can just pick up any old long sword / dark sword and use Shards/Chunks)


Demon's Greataxe is another good 2 hander. It does absolutely ridiculous damage but the range is awful.
