is this version of the game the same as the psp version? they have star ocean: second evolution & star ocean: first departure on psp.
maybe they are remakes of 1 an 2, i have them on my long as hell games to buy list. but they are not near the top. i may check out the first one first departure someday.

also, if you guys like the game wouldnt you rather get a real copy? i understand if your low on money to buy one tho.
the only emulated games i play is old stuff from nes, snes, gensis since there too old to track down real copys and they have batteries inside the cartridges to save with an they die fast since there so old.
but im told you can just open it up an replace the old battery.
oh, and of course over priced games like suikoden 2 i'll surely play on an emulator.
im hopin they'll put out suikoden 2 soon on psn so the retail disc copy will go down in price, much like what happened with xenogears, FF7, Vagrant story & others. (idont have vagrant story).

The Second Evolution is equivalent to The Second Story, I'm sure the First Departure is an import from the original NES game. As far as real copies go, at some point I do plan on collecting these PSX games but I don't have time to sit down, controller in hand, and crank out 100+ hours a piece for each game I'd like to beat. Emulators give me a lot of leniency; save stating in case I fuck up, save stating in case there is no nearby save point and there's something urgent I have to take care of in the real world, not having to worry about the condition of the disc (I think the last "bad" game freeze I had was Final Fantasy VIII in the pit of the Ragnarok, doesn't that just piss you off?), etc. With Skyrim and Final Fantasy XIII-2 coming out, I'd rather devote my television and PS3 console to those games and tackle these older games on my laptop where I can play at work if I have the time.

great idea man, also if you have psp you can also download some good jrpgs from psn there only 6-10 bux each. they have these on psn:
xenogears, grandia, ff7,8,9,tactics, chrono cross, parasite eve, suikoden 1. i cant remember what else, might be bit nicer on psp then playin on a laptop.
or it could be better with the laptop if your boss watches you.

also you dont have to worry about the condition of the discs if you just take care of them, when im not playing a game i dont leave the disc just anywhere.
i always put it back in its case an put it on the shelf.
and theres places that have disc buffing/polishing machines that take the scratches out, if you come upon a good old psx game but its scratched abit.
i did that with the first silent hill psone game an it looks great now.
