I do agree that the plot has a one track mind, and a lot of the dialogue isn't very engaging. Been a while since I played it, but the game does seem to drag along for a little bit after the 50%ish range. But, what I really liked about the game was the ending, it really caught me off guard. It's one of the few RPGs where I was just kinda like.. "I didn't see that coming". And yeah, I rarely transformed with my characters either, there really isn't any point. But, I actually kinda liked that aspect, it's like you're saving your best shit for when you need it rather than overkilling all shit in sight like you do in most games.
And Lol at your battle system comment. On a serious note though, I never had to grind in the game, I mean, I fought battles when I got in them, but I didn't think it was as hard as you do. It may be hard to do the additions because you're playing on an emulator, but I can pull off the highest ones pretty easily.
