xenogears and star ocean second story sum up my childhood. i cant pick one over the other.

i've actually beat grandia 2 haha, have it on dreamcast. I actually like what I've played of the first one, but it was a little slow at the start. I might go with Grandia or Vagrant Story honestly. Vagrant Story is supposed to be the shortest out of all of them it might be the best starting point.

I started playing Vagrant Story, it is awesome so far. Great story and atmosphere, a little bit of a dungeon crawler, seems like this one flew under the radar.

I see two people picked Vagrant Story on the poll since after I said I was gonna start with it haha.

Star Ocean: Second Story is my single favorite PS1 game.
Ashton has been my favorite character in any game to this point in time.
Battle system is unique, story is crazy and enjoyable, and the characters are top-notch.
A must play in my eyes.
