Because of the fact that skyrim did not convince me that much (comparing it to earlier TES games) I am looking for a new singleplayer rpg for ps3. (a classic one with swords, shields, dragons, orcs or whatever :D)
My first impressions were 'dragons dogma' or 'dragon age origins' (although this one might be quite old but i don't want any sequels like a dragon age2)...
are those good or are there better ones for my needs?

i own dragon's dogma and i must say, i liked it a lot more than skyrim.
it has that "swords and magic" feel but also has a bit more excitement.
i admit some of the quests get repetitive after a while, but i really enjoyed the game.
i spent many many hours on it.

Dragon Age is a really good game, it's not the same hack and slash style as TES, but it is really well done. It's like KOTOR combat wise.

I know you are mainly looking for old folklore type games, but you should try Heavy Rain. It's the best PS3 exclusive single player game. The story/characters/development is amazing.

I'm sure you'd get into the BioWare games ~ Dragon Age and Mass Effect alike. Could also shoot for Final Fantasy XIII/XIII-2.

Dragon age: Ultimate edition. If you will go for this look for Ultimate version with all the dlc's and expansion. Dragon age 2 got more spectacular looking combat but storywise it's lower then first ;>. Other game that i could say taht is worth of playing is :Demon's and Dark souls, loooooooooooong hours of gameplay (mostly couse of dieing :P) but it's very specific series and every boss killed or level completed makes you feel that you have achieved something big
