I'm one of those solo-mmo players. Like oldschool runescape or path of exile.

Wondering, if it is mandatory, how is grouping? Easy to find groups and stuff?

Also, seems like a lot of ppl selling gold and no buyers. Is this a sign the economy is bad and there's no reason for gold in the end?

idk, just bored and need something to do but not really committed to trying the game out just yet without a bit more info

Yes, Dreadmyst is great! At least for me—I’ve put 300 hours of enjoyment into it.

That said, there are quite a few flaws, and they need to be mentioned:

1. The dev gradually increased the rewards in SOLO dungeons.
→ Direct effect: almost no one runs group dungeons anymore. And honestly… if it pays so little, why bother?

2. Lack of depth.
Once you reach 10k GS (which feels unreachable at first, but you’ll get there in ~100 hours), there’s not much left to do.
Apart from grinding to stack gold, that is.

3. The last group dungeon is absurdly difficult.
This is a major issue. No one does it.
If the dev increased the rewards and made it actually worth spending 10 hours wiping non-stop, it could be interesting.
Right now, there are maybe 2 or 3 groups that farm it in 30 minutes. Ridiculous.

4. PvP still needs a LOT of work.
It’s just not there yet. (Personal opinion—I could elaborate, but it wouldn’t really change much.)

5. Gear upgrading issues.
You can upgrade your gear to +10 with Divine Orbs.
After that, you need Arcane Orbs to go up to +12, which is the real power spike.
BUT Arcane Orbs are only obtainable in Demiplane…

6. Speed-runs:
Great addition. BUT also pretty frustrating.
If you don’t have 11k GS with full +12 BiS gear, you won’t even be top 10.
So yeah—fun for a while, but it gets old quickly.

One thing is certain:
If you like this type of game, you’ve got 100 hours of enjoyable grinding ahead of you.

Dude, you rock. I could understand it perfectly and it was better than most people could do as native speakers.

This gives me a good perspective about end game and how people have so much gold for trade.

Speaking of trading. Is trading in game important? Do you mostly get your own gear drops or is it easier to buy specific gear for your character?

In the end, everyone kind of plays their own adventure.
Maybe playing SSF could actually be fun. Even so, chaining solo dungeons over and over can… get boring pretty fast.

Finding an active guild might be a good idea—to avoid doing the same thing all day and to discuss different builds.

I watched a youtube video about an endgame solo dungeon and some of the comments talked about how Paladin and Cleric are broken because they can self heal. Some clerics say they can basically speedrun stuff without any worry.
Does this invalidate the other classes or can all classes solo? It would be annoying to pick a "bad" solo class if the game is built around that aspect of gameplay.

You have 4 class options:

I know two builds:

STR / COURAGE (solo content / PvP)

INT / WILL (group dungeons)

2. Paladin → Not amazing in PvP (or maybe it is?)
This is the class I played from start to finish.
Roughly 3 builds:

STR / COURAGE with melee critical (solo content / PvP)

STR / COURAGE with block rating / dodge rating (dungeon tank)

STR / COURAGE with SHADOW RES (ONLY for the last Demiplane boss)

3. Ranger → Seems very strong in PvP as well.
Maybe a bit technical in solo play.
Build: AGI / STR / COURAGE with Ranged Weapon Value or Ranged Critical Hits.
Looks fun.

4. Mage → Like the Hunter, seems very strong but a bit technical when fighting packs with multiple adds.
I didn’t play it myself, but I talked with a lot of mages 😄
I only know one very simple build:
YOU WANT TRIPLE STATS NO MATTER THE COST XD
(INT / WILL / COURAGE)

Overall, I think all classes are good for solo content,
even if Paladin and Cleric clearly seem like the PERFECT choices for that type of gameplay—
probably much easier as well.

Very good info!

The game really caught my eye at first but I've heard just as much negative stuff about it as I have positive so I wanted to double check.

Also surprised to see that the dreadmyst gold is selling for so much here. Seems like the rate is crazy even with demand being so low.

The game basicly needs a Restart in the Economy. Theres to much Gold Around at the moment so that it is not worth much anymore or ppl get to much to easy and thats why nobody here really buys it anymore.

Every Class can clear the Solo Content. Some say Paladin, Cleric have it better because they can heal but they are also way Slower. When you know what youre doing you can be way faster as a mage or Ranger. Ranger is way safer because they can Reset any Mistake and Mage has to play it perfectly
Aside from that its just grinding until you dont want to anymore and get ur Bis Gear. :D

On top of that the game is runned by a Single Dev and hes getting updates out pretty fast. The last new Additions was the new Demiplane Dungeon for Groups that is rly hard todo for most ppl but when you have a decent Party you get it cleared in some hours when the players learn the strats.
The new Solo dungeons you can farm now for endgame gear
The new Open world zone where you can basicly Farm the same Gems with a lower Drop rate as the gems that Drop in the Party Dungeon Demiplane. ( Forgot to Mention that you only have a chance to Soc ur items. If youre unlucky you miss the Soc and the gem is lost xD ) Since a +5 Gem costs Around 3 Million you could say you just burned alot of money :D I hope that there comes a change in the Future. On the other hand its a good way to get the Gold overall down again but yeah.

New additions that should come soon is an Working Auction house and of course more Open world PvP. Thats basicly what he said.

You say mage has to play perfectly for solo. Is their solo weakness compensated by how strong they are in a group?

Love to hear about the updates. Makes me wonder if I should wait to play until it's had more time to cook. But then I risk the player base moving on to new games I guess.

I just realized what you said about socketing gems. Do you buy gems for 3mill from a vendor? If you trade a player 3mill for a gem and it poofs then you've just made inflation MUCH worse cause the gem is gone but the gold remains.

If you purely buy them from a Player its 3m. If you make them urself you have to farm 5 +4 gems. It depends on the stat what they are worth. STR for example is worth 400k. You can grind them in the new zone and when you have 5 Gems you need to buy a item from a Vendor that is worth 1.5 Mill to craft a +5 stone. The item is also dropable with a low drop chance from the new zone also

Mage has to play it perfectly todo the new solo dungeon because he has no Reset button like a ranger with his Vanish but he does alot of dmg in return and has 3 types of CC to keep enemys at bay.
