Except you are just as powerful in many situations, i.e. battlegrounds where everybody no matter level is on the same playfield, and you can level through BG's.
So infact XP boosts can mean absolutely nothing.

see the quote i brought from the arena.net blog, which says this isnt true at all.

Fact is, if u think XP boosts are pay to win, u are a bad player...

fact is if you dont think they are paying for a character advantage in game, you are just a dumb player.

faster progression into the end game which then snowballs for 1-2 months. It happens every mmo, im sorry if your to new to the genre to realize this.

for God sake, GW2 is not like the typical MMO you are used to.
In games like WoW, SWTOR, Rift, etc. you try level up fast as possible so you can enjoy the raids and end content.
IN GW2 there is no need for that. From level 1 you fight against huge bosses and do awesome stuff, you dont have to wait untill level 80 before the fun begins, the game is ''endgame'' from the beginning.
understand?

end game isnt being able to do dungeons and fight bosses. Being able to do that early is wow swtor and rift. End game advantage is getting into progression gear. Do that sooner and it snowballs forward as the first month or two to every patch tries to slow this down.

GW2 don't have the same endgame gears as in those games.
It's more cosmetic item's, so the endgame gear look's ''cooler'' than the rest more or less.
you don't have to grnid the same dungeons and bosses over and over again to get these aswell.

I don't understand why you're talking about this game like you've played it. I know you haven't, so stop being so closed-minded about it.

so what you are saying, is that you learn nothing in school? because you read stuff?
I've read, watched videos, so I know more than some people who even tried the demos.
so stop being so stupid, doh.

I hope you both realize Lazy is entirely right. There is no end game progression gear. There is no "traditional" end game, for that matter. Therefore, getting to the level cap is value-less; getting there faster will only ruin the entire experience.

I'd prefer NOT to go digging through old Arena Net posts, but these are things they have clearly stated.

hes not completely correct. Theres no endgame in the sense of a gear treadmill progression of bosses. BUT, the endgame dungeons etc are where the best endgame loot will come from, and where you'll be able to farm the most gold if you get there quickly.
Its a very minor thing, but to say that 'endgame' starts at low level is wrong. You can always go back to lower areas, but unless you're able to offset the poorer loot (yes i know it scales but it wont be as high in value as top lvl areas) through killing quicker you're better off in a high level area. And that assumes there no achievements etc that would make you want to farm a high level zone over a low level one.

Comments such as "will only ruin the experience" are 100% subjective and you just cant speak for someone. If i hate levelling and dont care about the story, but want to be the first to farm X max level loot or such, then I would only 'ruin' my experience by levelling slowly, for example.

The 'endgame' outside of farming cosmetic loot (which you wont be doing in a low level area anyway unless its a karma item AND you can somehow make it worthwhile through speed of killing) for PVE is simply acquiring currency. Gold = cosmetic items = 'endgame' in GW2 assuming thats what you're interested in.

(im not even addressing the other guys posts about the XP boost). IMO XP boosts are going to be important depending on what your goal is @ the beginning of gw2, but overall are nothing to whine about.

The very fact that the yare (According to leaks) only affecting XP from kills means that they are likely to be a minor boost unless you find a good grinding spot (which there inevitably will be a few), but grinding mobs in general isnt effective in gw2 due to the low XP/mob & high xp/dynamic event)
