can buy an increased xp rate, a pay to win "item" in a mmo. Theres no greater advantage in a mmo than hitting max level faster than the other guys.

Um, no, you cant pay to win in LoL, cant pay to win in WoW (not an open cash shop, but u can buy alot in WoW outside of the game, mounts, transfers, etc.)

the model works fine infact, and many MMO's have worked it perfectly fine.

Grats on ur uneducated point of view.

Pretty much this, anybody who thinks otherwise is retarded.

You will not be able to pay to win, period, you can do anything stat/power wise in game with time/hard work that you can do with your wallet.

Or GW2

Attempting to compare a cash shop model with only cosmetics and mounts and pets, to one with clear boosts that give advantages to players.

you fail to see that in GW2 lvl is not that important, since in pvp you scale to max lvl and unlock all skills.
you fial to see that there is a side-kicking system that allows you to be the same lvl as the guys in your party so you can enjoy content together.
research before you make false statements :)

tell me what is wrong with boost, since this game is not like the other games you played.
there is endgame content from lvl 1, you don't need to hit lvl 80 before you can fully enjoy the game.

so please, tell me what is wrong with boosts. people who want to rush lvl 80, let them.

except when you get scaled to max, you arnt as powerful as someone at max or any level higher than you and side kicking doesnt affect this at all. so as you said, research.

you are almost as powerful, but as I said -why would you want to hit lvl 80 so fast?
I mean, let those who want to support ArenaNet by buying some boost do it, it wont affect anything :)

Those who buy the exp boosts won't be getting an advantage. Rather, they will be missing out on a portion of the game, and won't be getting the full GW2 experience.

Their loss.

because its the single biggest advantage in a mmo, even guild wars 2 and it doesnt sound like "almost as powerful".

Character level adjustments have a limit, however. The level-adjustment system won’t let a level 1 character go head-to-head against a level 80 character with much chance of victory—a level 80 character is still going to have more bonuses on their gear and access to a full complement of utility and elite skills that players just don’t have at lower levels. This is not to say that the high-level character will one-shot the level 1 player, but they will have a clear advantage.

So what’s a low-level character to do? Anybody can man a siege weapon, help repair walls, or go hunt down enemy dolyaks, so even new characters can still be useful in the Mists—as long as they pick their fights wisely. Fights are rarely one-on-one affairs, so if you’re just starting out, you’d be wise to find some teammates to fight alongside you as there definitely is strength in numbers.

You really dont understand MMO's, or GW2 at all then.

Except you are just as powerful in many situations, i.e. battlegrounds where everybody no matter level is on the same playfield, and you can level through BG's.

So infact XP boosts can mean absolutely nothing.

Fact is, if u think XP boosts are pay to win, u are a bad player...
