Um, no, you cant pay to win in LoL, cant pay to win in WoW (not an open cash shop, but u can buy alot in WoW outside of the game, mounts, transfers, etc.)
the model works fine infact, and many MMO's have worked it perfectly fine.

Pretty much this, anybody who thinks otherwise is retarded.
You will not be able to pay to win, period, you can do anything stat/power wise in game with time/hard work that you can do with your wallet.
