I think AoA will appeal to more non-everquest people but both are great games. AoA not having an active beta right now just means when M&M hype starts to die back down it'll just be ramping up. Between M&M/AoA/Pantheon(dead or alive), people who like the everquest style of MMO will have plenty of enjoyment to choose from.
