Seriously though.... This is the best game i've ever played.
I've made many of these threads, and I'm sure Ill make more. But I'd just like to say that UO is the most in depth, endlessly fun game to play. It's challenging, especially compared to today's games and can also be too in depth. But if you find the right shard they really cut out the crap and get right to the good stuff, but still leave endless things to do.
I play on Alexandria, the EasyUO.com server. It's pretty low pop compared to some of the Renaissance era shards, but they make it easy to start delving into the game without having you make it your 2nd or 3rd job...
Alexandria is up to date High Seas and it has incredible custom features to it. Not some half-a**ed custom features, entire new systems implemented by professional developers and real-life UO GM's. There is waaay too much to get into on this thread, but if you pm me and can tell you all that you want to know.
I started on Ren servers (Renaissance era mechanics shard)It was fun and a wonderful introductory into what many hardcore fans claim "is the best". But once i tried AoS and beyond I never looked back. The amount of PvM is mind boggling (Fishing,Treasure Hunting, Animal Taming, Stealing,etc. on and on), and the PvP is incredibly unique and fun. Be warned that it is very different from Pre-AoS (Ren-era) to AoS and after. Both have their strong points and you should try both to know for sure.
There are many servers to choose from and so many ways to play this game, it's no wonder why modern MMO's have looked to what they did (right and wrong) at EA with UO for inspiration for next gen. That being said, "There's Nothing like the Real Thing Babyyyyyy"
