I'm looking for a specific kind of game, I can run every game on highest settings 1080p but I'm not a graphics whore and I'm missing a lot of the good game play in some 2D games I used to play. I'll be willing to give people some fg if they can get me into a MMORPG. Some requirements or things I'm looking for are...
  • Community (not necessarily population)
  • Customization
  • Pet System
  • Maybe a house system

*Note I've played a lot of MMORPG's and most of the big ones

Have you tried EVE? Good in game community. Play built stations. No pets, but a lot of customization. It's a sandbox type game.

If you haven't tried eq2 extended, try it, you can play it free with some limits or pay/month without any limitations.

I really like the way 2D games feel compared to 3D but I have EverQuest downloaded never really had the time to play it fully, is it worth playing as a free and do the limits hinder the overall enjoyment of the game? I've been wanting to try and play EVE but the monthly fee is a drag because I don't have much money... maybe when I start finding a job in the next couple of weeks.

It's not a 2D MMORPG but it's still really fun to play - and it's F2P with the option of gear for pay - AikaOnline - pm me for details if your interested. Meets other requirements you stated.

I play on the p2p servers and have been for some years now. I tried playing on extended and felt unless I paid the $15 month there I was losing out on overall game experience so I went back to there p2p servers. Either way it is a great game with housing and a very nice community. May not be the biggest anymore, but it sure beats the asshats in WoW.

Spiral Knights. Think Legend of Zelda, online.

I've tried mostly all of the current suggestions, Spiral Knights got boring for me after a few hours.
