so i got wc3 expansion n all that

but every time i try to join a DoTA game, it sends me to the chat lobby? do i have to wait for something? every other type of game i join i end up in some sort of game lobby

im guessing i have to download the maps?

download map -> getdota.com

put the dota map into your Warcraft III>Maps>Download directory

ok now i have that figured out

i know how to play decently, the hotkeys can be annoying, but w/e

idk how/which items to buy, or how to use the recipies lol

edit: also im having trouble telling teamates apart from enemies, is there anyway i can change this? or do i just get more familiar with the game?(i play LoL so its VERY easy to tell the difference)

Well, they're your team color, but u can change the whole enemy/ally color
by clicking one the the buttons on the right sidebar of your map.

k thanks, most of the characters i was vs were like all white or some wierd wisp (whom i killed twice in my first game lolololnoob) and i would have to put my mouse over their name to see

i figured out the recipes etc for items, i just need to learn which ones are good and which ones aren't

2/4/6 in a defeat where we ended up 2v4 or something
