mask of madness is a great orb for slark, but mjollnir works too if ur farm is good.
bkb is a must when they have more than 1 stun
in some matchups a fast manta is a decent item too

Ok So here is my short guide on Slark

First go for a PMS, wraith band or Magic wand. As soon as you are done with that go for pt's. For orb I usually go with either S&Y, mjolnir, MoM or Diff blade, after that I go butterfly, buriza or some high dmg item.
It all depends on what type of heroes you are facing. If you face channelers then go mkb, if you are facing dps heroes then go butterfly etc.

The orbs listed are all nice for different reasons.
S&Y is very stable and nice item for slark. It provides a little bit of everything and Slark does benefit from all of the mods. The extra agi and AS is always nice, +16 str gives him some very needed HP and maim can be very useful in the right situation.
Mjolnir is probably your best bet. Provides great AS and the orb is great for farming and teamfights alike. Plz note that the static field buff should not be placed on yourself but on a tanker hero.
MoM can be useful but it all depends on what heroes you are facing. I usually don't go for MoM and when I do I pretty much always buy bkb. Slark is fragile as it is and 30% extra dmg taken makes him go down faster than a hooker on X.
Last but not least the Diff blade. Just like all items this is a situational item. If you are facing heroes such as Sven, Omni, Warlock, Ursa then this orb will be great. Even if you're not you will still rape every spellcaster hero with this great item.

I usually go for diff or S&Y because of the great benefits of having purge on diff or the survivability on S&Y. Ofc th build can be tweaked depending on what type of heroes you are facing and what type of heroes you have on your team. This is why I don't usually like to give a certain build on any hero because in most cases it depends on what role you need to take for your team and what heroes the enemy team has. But I will list some optional items here to consider:

BKB - If the enmy team has 2-3 stunners/disablers then this item should be strongly considered. Keep in mind that the +10 str and +24 dmg is also useful for you.
Vanguard - If you are facing 3 or more dps heroes then Vanguard is a very nice option for you. The HP reg is pretty useless since your ulti provides tons of that but the block and 300 HP is great.
Linken's - If the enemy team has some very nasty target spells then linkens is not a bad choice. Keep in mind that Linken's blocks some ulti's such as Strygwyr's Rupture. The +15 to all stats is great and gives you a little bit of everything. 150% mana reg is also great and let's you spam your spells.

Lastly I just wanna add that every match is different and in every new match you have to adapt your style of play and your itembuild to what type of heroes you have on your team and the heroes the enemy team. I cannot stress this enough. It's a common mistake that many players do to always go for the same build. This should not be the case with Slark. So take this in consideration when playing Slark.

Treads, MoM, BKB, Yasha are usually good options. He needs attack speed and movespeed the most for essence shift.

as first item get the poor man shield, 6agi and 20dmg block from hero and creep what ever, its a MUST and get tangos,

then buy boots at the lane shop, just keep last hiting and deny, ull rape, then get MoM (after the tread preferably lol)

then its just fking easy ownage.... click on ur aoe, jump, right when u will land the aoe will spray, click on mom, attack the guy, if he dont die from the chains and aoe, use ult... this hero is just rigged, remember
