I got a invitation but haven't had the time to download and try it out.

Awesome game dude you should try it, it's like dota but way better in my opinion.

I've watched some videos of game play, it looks pretty dope. Items and heroes similar to Dota?

HoN was made with the help of Icefrog.. so yea. Many heroes were remaked tho, other skills/skins.. graphics are way better of course, just try out. You won't regret it.
