I think this pretty much sums it up

although mechanism is also quite nice.
and in competitive dota, lich is often considered a ward-hero since lich isn't very item dependent.

But if for some reason you see yourself having an abundance of gold. mekanism, boots of travel, dagon, ahgnims, and any other items to support your team, depending
on what you think the situation needs; possibly a eul's ,guinsoos, pipe, refreshers.

keep in mind this is dota, so there isnt always 1 build. if you are having problems staying alive, get gear for survival.
as a support/nuker, your job is to stay alive, and do whatever it takes to help your carries stay alive. so most of these items are situational

edit: oh yes, for the skills.

It's often nice to start with 1 into dark ritual to deny as much experience from the enemy as possible and to maintain good lane control

so i typically go..
ritual/nova/nova/ritual/nova/chain frost/nova/(then depending on the situation, either frost armor or ritual. if your team needs any help in fights go frost armor, if not, keep going ritual

I'm saying this skill build due to most publics are retarded, so you need to take initiative yourself and kill everything, generally this item build does this.
