So, I'm getting a firm grasp of playing the game, using my skills effectivley and also lane control, but there's one problem I've noticed when I'm playing, and it's that I'm always a few levels under people and I never as much money as them, I feel I can do good everything, just I'm never in the right place at the right time to use my other knowledge...

Basically: Any tips on reading heros and where they might be? And ways to keep up with my teamates moving a little quicker then me? And also should I try and stick with them or go around solo??

Hmmm :wallbash:

It would be helpful if you were a bit more specific. Replays are also handy in these cases.

There are several generic roles in Dota, and depending on which the hero falls into, it will change their playstyle.

Your questions are too general. Circumstances really change everything.

Knowing where everyone is or where they're heading is an acquired skill.

Response time is key in Dota. You have to know where you need to be at all times, another thing that comes with time.

Going "solo" really depends on your hero.

Some general tips:
Carry TP scrolls at all times; they're essential for defending and can be used for offense and farming, as well.
If you're a roamer make sure your ganks are going to go through, otherwise you've wasted a ton of time.
Learn to last hit/deny well (you should take entire creepwaves if you're left alone). Make the very most of free farm, if you can.

Very helpful info :) I mean, I have no specific question, just need some general knowledge!

Mind you I do like Sand King, Atropos and Lanaya!

Well, if you are using sand king. You should be one of those high levels. Do independent training, try getting last hits/denying. my build is stun and 3rd since i always get my last hit. and it does a great amount of damage. Also farm easier. Try it out, im about to host a game on Us west. if you want to be in.

general tip: look at minimap to see positions of your allies and how many enemy heroes are visible. take a quick peek to see what they're doing every now and then. if you notice you can't see many heroes and you have pushed a lane more than halfway, consider retreating, joining allies, or hunt their neutrals.
