A hero I've been avoiding for a while since I'm usually reluctant to try new heroes. I randomed him one game and decided to try him, and he's probably the most fun hero I've ever played.
Anyway, what kind of crazy builds do you guys use on him?

I was just going bloodstone / orchid.

Also, which invokes are the best early / late game?

numerous skill builds for invoker, items reflect on what you get skillwise imo..

The most common I've seen is EMP Tornado early to basically every skill late, phase euls bloodstone orchid

Most common is forges, sunstrike, icewall right now i would say. And strongest in my opinion, rushing double forges, but it lacks an escape mechanism (ghostwalk) early, which is pretty much the main weakness

I was just testing some things out in -test mode.

With 3 Wex maxed and boots of travel you have nearly 500 movespeed. That's pretty crazy.

As far as skills go. So far I've been just using sunstrike / ghostwalk early game. Sunstrike because in pubs it's really fun to kill someone who thinks they've gotten away. I haven't really thought about forges, but now that I think about it they seem like they're worth getting.

forge spirits are really great to have
they synergize with almost any hero partner that has a slow/snare/stun on ganks, etc
they can help last hit (if you have trouble even with all the +damage from exort) and combined with invoker auto attacks you can seriously burn enemy HP so easily

just remember that while you are forge spirit/ice wall built, it's not stopping you from invoking a sunstrike to assist gank/clean up or a cold snap on the fly to help out
