just got WC3 after having tried it a few times at a friend's house
i really liked the enfo's game type but i heard there were other game types with a similar theme (team survival)
anyone know the names?

edit: on a side note, what is the DOTA game type about?

also, my friend told me about the other game type so now im just wondering about DOTA

dota is a 5v5 team game to destroy the other teams main building.

you start at lvl one killing creep spawns/heros and lvl up gaining money and exp. you use money to buy items to make your hero GGWTFPWN and pretty much destroy them

Dota is a team game first and foremost. all the noobs like to 1v1. retarded imo.
dota is a 5v5 game with a neutral spawns and creeps(spawn ever so often in 3 lanes. same amount on both sides.)
at lv 1 you are really weak. so you "creep" by lasthitting a creep in ur lane to get gold. you use this gold to buy items to make ur character stronger.
Dota is very fun because it has so many heros and different strats for each build. not eveyone goes the same items/skills on every hero
plus u may need to go different skills depeneding on your opponents heros.
the point of the game is to get lots of gold and kill the enemy. because when you die you lose some gold that you are saving.

and since your new i strongly reinforce you to play as a team because when u do a team that has bad hero picks or who are not "farmed"(riced) can still beat an overpowered team simply by roaming around with ur 5 heros and fighting them as 5v3 5v3 etc.

hope this helps. try it out and dont give up. it is a very fun game. find a friend who will help you with your specific questions. my opinion is watch a few people who own and copy what they do. go to dota allstars and watch some replays. you can see how the game play is there.
