A different game isn't better or worse. I enjoyed both games. When I first played warcraft 3, I thought it was incredible. It was the first game I've ever played that took some ideas out of rpgs and combined them into an rts.

I was blown away by the campaign and the hero system the first time I played it...got me so hooked I beat it in 3 days, frozen throne in 5.

But after that, melee games were just too different for me from WC1 and 2 to get into them.

But as others have said, WC3 is worth buying just for the maps and mods (dota, survival, etc. are amazing).

Most likely not. If they do make a WC4 it won't be out for at least 5+ years. You have to remember that right now blizzard currently has a team/is making a team for each of these projects: D3, SC2, Next-Gen MMO, Unannounced game, and probably a WoW expansion. The SC2 and D3 teams will be busy for at least then next 3 years. The WoW team is the WoW team... and they are going to have 2 more teams for their 2 new games that are unannounced. I don't think Blizzard will have six teams up at once... and remember if they start WC4 NOW it wont be out for 5+ years.

Btw to those people that are 'hoping' the SC2 editor will be better then WC3s: It WILL be better, theres no doubt. The SC2 editor is gonna be insane (I've heard it can do your laundry!, lol).

Oh, and no, Blizzard is not working with the creators of DOTA, and we have to hope that piece of shit game doesn't get popular on SC2.
