Need Help, Problem Wth Getting Patch - Topic

Well my problem was a little bit different but the same error came up. For me wc3 was NOT in the add/remove program menu. So, what worked for me was I actually reinstalled wc3 with out deleting the first one. Was pretty screwy set up. So I ran the newly installed ver of wc3 and it updated just fine. Then I went back and ran the original wc3 and it was then allowed to update. One thing you could try is just copy the entire wc3 directory folder and make a new folder called something like Warcraft III 2 and run that and see if lets you update.

also i use window's vista, im starting to think this is the problem. ifso instructions to fix would be helpful

make sure you're firewall isn't blocking wc3.

Start > Control Panel > (Security) Allow a program through Windows Firewall > Select WC3 TFT

EDIT: you've already tried this

right click on startup icon > properties > compatibility tab > run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP

i uninstalled, then deleted anything including warcraft 3 then downloaded/installed of b.net using my cdkeys and it did not give me the latest version, it keeps giving me version 1.21b .. i have full patch 1.24a on my desktop and it won't update it, it says unable to authenticate archive after i did the installpath shit, that did nothing.

if its authenticate error, its the patch file problem, did u use full 1.24 path? installpath fixes the problem u have, check if u have teh right directory and patch.

So, you've tried to run it as Administer, dunno if that helps?
