Edit: By the way the recent patch brought Matchmaking to HoN. As well as entering open beta, players can now make an account for free and without key.

To be honest, DotA is a generic version of HoN.

Generic just means the cheaper, less entertaining object.


HoN = DotA done with better graphics.

Why not play it?

HoN has more potential because of the fact it's not limited by Warcraft III's engine, as DotA is.



Because people think a new, obviously superior game is bad due to the fact they want to be "cool" for playing such an old, limited game.

Matchmaking kinda sucks, it should team up with people that have the same psr as you and... no kick system :\ ? Some people just idle at the well to lose on purpose.

I haven't played matchmaking yet since i heard its so shitty. Can't wait till team matchmaking tho.

All graphics, no gameplay. It's shit.

Because dota has a competitive scene, people know the heroes, people know the items, it`s a taller built game.

It also looks very easy to kill, like it`s not balanced enough yet to even bother with it.

Those who says there's no competitive scene to HoN have never played the game or looked at any of the tournaments. The finals of the Alienware North American cup played on the 1st of april at the HoN Open beta launch party for 2,500$ in cash prizes. That's only one of the few tournament's that's been going on.

Yes, there is balancing issues right now, it takes time for every changes to see how the metagame changes, that aspect isn't perfect. As far as the heroes and items goes, the items aer the absolute same, with different names. Same with Hero ports, same abilities, different name.
