his point is pointless. i never said dota takes absolutely 0 skill and it's just a roll of the dice to see who wins. I said it takes barely any skill in comparison to other games that are played professionally. learn to fucking read....

I just wanted to point out that Dota has inspired developers to make an actual game modeled from it. Its community is also growing at a very fast rate, far surpassing WC3. The creators of Dota did something right. It's popular and it's gained international prestige, being the only, "mini," game to see such recognition, with sponsored teams and tournament leagues.

These arguments against Dota are knee-jerk, "I hate pub dota!" randhat attempts to troll the forum. By randhat, I don't mean to this forum but to the dota community. There hasn't been one that is logically sound, and most haven't even attempted civility.

For those JSP community members who enjoy dota, I urge you not to post in any more of these types of threads. It's not a good idea, in general, to feed the trolls.

As someone who played both. I would have to say that they equally make me use as much of my energy and time in both games (however much that is while sitting in front of the computer). Sure DotA doesn't require you to hotkey your buildings and shit and to refer back to them in at a fast pace, but it does have a lot of mind game involved. I'm not that great in either because i just suck to be honest, but they're both pretty damn tough for me. DotA seems to leave me in the dirt while ladder gamers tend to move a lot faster than i do. But seriously, why fight over something that's so trivial. They're both there for entertainment. Does it matter if you're good or not in either one? No it doesn't, so just sit down and play.
