Mid Solo is quite possibly shadow demon. You try and lane against him when he is spamming disruption on you (doesnt need his other 2 spells, i'd go for stats).

With enough spammage of that the opponent will be forced back. He'll hit 6 fairly fast where disruption + ult is likely to get a kill.

Do note it has to be 1v1, preferably against a ranged, not quite as good versus melee, but he'll still dominate the lane.

i like pugna for lane control

Lich is great at the start. Viper gets really good at 5-7 but until then he is just a fairly normal ranged hero

bat is most versatile
enigma and lich are really great due to their creep deny potential.
if they are laning at pullable lanes they can out level like crazy early
