From my experience good players will avoid -em. You cannot deny with right click because the default action is 'move'. You should always be using 'a' and left click anyways to kill stuff

no, you should not LOL

easier sometimes to just rightclick, but if you're precise enough you can whatever the hell you want

it's just that a clicking is necessary to deny allied units

Im an experienced dota player and i would never join an easy mode game because its too easy. (and carries get imba without good creepstats/herokills because theres 1extragold per second)

To get some experience try to play 5-10 heroes again and again. And if you know their abilitys really good take the next 5-10 heroes.

The most important thing at dota is the farm and the teamplay ability.
If you dont switch your lane you can have 8 creep kills per minute ( Nobody got these not even the pro players)
A really good farm is about 4-5 creeps per minute.
You should try to get at least 2-3 creep kills per minute so that you are able to afford some better items.
There are also many tutorial videos at different sites like playdota.com or simply youtube
You can also say /tips ingame to get some useful informations about your hero and gameplay.
If you have experienced dota players in your team, do what they tell you. You will learn much from their experience.

Hope this helps you a bit ;)

Play a few heroes and get used to their attack frame and you will know when to cancel movements and last hit faster.
Team play and character control is important so do not click attack and watch and spam spells only.
Item builds can differ each game so do not go off and buy the same thing every game because you need the right items to counter the other team.

how do i tell if its a pub or a good player game etc, they all have crazy names like APEM(ive looked these up, all pick easy mode etc)

also, when i try to deny my guy just runs to the minion even though im ranged

To deny you have to hit "a" on keyboard (attack) and left click your own units - to lasthit other's units you can just right click them when they get low.

As a general standard - -EM easy mode games are generally worse players. I'm just saying don't go trying to play TDA's, DotaCash, Etc. games as those are more competitive players until you get the hang of how the game works playing with random pubs on b.net

If you want I'll play a dota with you sometime and coach you for a game.

People who are purposely trying to play TDA-only non-em games or dotacash-only non-em games at least have played a decent amount and are trying to improve - not saying they're by any means really good.

But I'd say skill level is slightly better than a random -APEM Us/Ca LC random game creator. But yeah, I understand what you're saying.

Look up the mechanics/basics on the playdota website...best thing you can do to start is to learn how the game actually works. Read some hero guides, some lane control/map awareness/basic stuff, etc. Playing to get experience is good and all, but if you play without actually practicing anything to help you improve, you're just going to build bad habits in your gameplay. Read up on the absolute basics, then join games and just focus on practicing those basics. That's the first step. After that, you can start worrying about learning the many heroes one by one.
