To elaborate (instead of just referring to the meta which I'm assuming most people aren't familiar with) omni plays a heavy support role mainly focusing on your primary carry. However, the current meta game focuses more heavily on early ganks to suppress any mid-game opposition and then pushing heavily mid game. 95% of tourney (bullshit stat but you get the point) level games do not make it past mid game these days (read: <30 minutes). Because most teams no longer rely on a heavy carry to win the game omni serves little purpose since a well put together team doesn't have one major focus hero. In regards to sniper, he's a pub hero plain and simple. He has absolutely no place in this early game push centric meta environment. Even when rice farming all day long was the norm, he was a waste of a slot. Even in a gank focused team there are too many better options.
