You talk just like my roommate. I guess both of you visit Dotaallstar too much. I couldn't agree with more what you just said. Personally I don't go bfury on SA, but that's more for farming capability. My roommate also taught me how to play a pro lion with a dagger and guinsoo to perm stun a carry in a team battle.
dota-allstars is a horrible place to find strategies
i find the best way is to watch replays of scrimmages with other clans and/or matches to find flaws in the losing team
here's my lion build:
http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/jontheskillful/ss_file-b5ce784b5a6b9ba9287864c35548a368b0f9fd57.jpgdagon can be changed for necronomicon
in the case of necronomicon i'd probably do blink dagger and forget the euls and have necro 3
necro 2 does more damage than a 400 damage dagon (calculations include a regular 4/x/0/x stats build) excluding the suicide damage on the sentry necro
necro 3 does more damage than a dagon 3 or 4 excluding the 800 suicide damage of the sentry necro, and you use it late game to also save money on sentry wards to counter-ward
the screenshot is from my team's first CEVO league loss (7-1 and in playoffs atm)
and yeah, we all did bad because we didn't talk strats and chose heroes on the fly
to play NA and lion you need an aggressive playstyle (not psycho aggressive and suiciding, but aggressive in a smart and effective way)
and unlike imgod said "if ur rune hunter" you absolutely must hog runes as NA and gank
you should have reasonably high kill+assist values if you're playing heroes like lion and NA properly
