I been having this game, but now just getting time to play it lol...
Friend bought it also. From what I have seen, orc seems to be the best for starting. Would it be an issue for him to start with Night Elf?
I myself was planning to go with human or Ud (which ever has the most potential with NE).

Also, what would be the easiest hero for NE and what would be the best for HU/UD? and some basic strategies to get me started

Thanks for any help

you should google some warcraft 3 replays or some tuts on youtube so you get a feel on the build order, generally beginner strats always start the same (altar/whatever makes food/t1 unit producer) and move up from there, it's very hard to explain all 4 different races at once.
for team games i would highly recommend human, going archmage / paladin with rifles/sorcs/priests/morts. it's a very strong and balanced setup in team games, as well as solo if you know how to play it and adjust to your opponent. get water elemental/mana aura on am and holy light/devo on paladin

if you're looking at ud, dk / lich fiend/wyrms/stats is very popular for beginners, get death coil to heal your units and aura as second ability for speed/healing and frost nova with frost armor. (great nuke combo if you focus a hero, death coil and frost nova all at once)

learn how to hot key asap.
you can hotkey by holding control and pressing a number while having a unit, unit group, or building selected. example: if i want my barracks to be selectable by pressing 2, ill select my barracks, hold control, and press 2. afterwards, to make a footman with it, to avoid a loss of micro, you just hit 2, then f (for footman) and cycle back to your unit group (which i usually hotkey as 1) late game you'll be going through several hot keys for your buildings to continue building units in combat, and have several unit groups when you're comfortable with it (ie ill have my caster group, my rifle/hero group, and my mort group hotkeyed in a human match)

and as for ne hero, all are extremely easy besides the warden.
demon hunter - alot of damage, relatively good skills, especially good for harassing/rushes
kotg - probably the most balanced hero, gets entangle to disable units while damaging them, as well as a treant summon (requires to target over trees) and a thorns aura (10/20/30% damage return) also has a large aoe healing spell which is deadly in any game
potm - ranged aura (seeing as most ne units are ranged, this is great), a scout bird to reveal bm's/spy on what the enemy is building or where their hero is/or fire arrow(additional single target damage for mana), ultimate is in my opinion the most deadly of the game, it's called starfall and does massive aoe damage. a full cast would near destroy a full base. just be sure to guard the potm while casting because a stun, interrupt or snare will cancel the cost (ie, entangle, storm bolt, silence, you get the picture) this also applies for the kotg's tranquility.

hope this is helpful, and if you have any other questions feel free to pm me. best of luck to you and your friend!

I Suggest Using A Lich King Just cuz death and decay owns when you have frost drags or w/e

And fr ground units use abomanations

that is a good Team or you can use gargoyls
There good too :)

but sometimes i use death night
