Bane is not very item dependent. 2 bracers/nulls depending on the other team/your lane, bottle, necronomicon, and phase or BoT depending on how well you feel you're doing. Bane doesn't really need positioning and Phase was nerfed in .60 though, so BoT may be better if you're doing well. You should get a lot of hero gold and Bane has quite the nice animation for cs.

As for skill build, I'd recommend sap/nightmare in your first 2, then get sap/stats until 8 or 9. Grip when available obviously.

EDIT: whether you get sap or nightmare at level 1 is up to you. 75 hp at level 1 isn't a whole lot, but its debatable. Some say nightmare at 1 just in case. Really, level 1 to 2 is so fast, and its not like pubs ever really try to set up a level 1 fb. So up to you.

Nightmare: Nightmare is 4s at level, quite nice for first level. The mana cost is rather high, and you should not be using it very often early game. No need to level until at least 12 when you have Grip lvl 2.
Enfeeble: Physical DPS doesn't become significant until well after the laning phase, and Enfeeble won't really be necessary. You should be ganking often, and the stats/grip/sap should benefit you much more. Again, no need to level until at least 12. Don't underestimate this skill as many do though, it really cripples a physical carry.

Whether you choose to level Nightmare or Enfeeble first should vary depending on your team and your opponents' team.

Yea Normally I go Nightmare first then Sap and stats like you said.

At level 7 I would be

Lvl 4 Sap
Grip
Lvl 1 nightmare
Stats

Sometimes I do go necronomicon if they have a hero that is mana dependant (omni, es).

Or some gay invis like Lanaya or BH

Yeah, that's fine. Even if they don't have Str casters, Necro is great on a hero like Bane though. Its a lot of damage in one combo, and mana burn is always good. It also provides some hp and mp that is useful. And if you ever play an organized game its good for ward killing. I don't recommend bloodstone as the guy above you posted, however. Bane's skills have a pretty long cd, and bottle should cover your mana concerns. You'll be roaming and ganking a lot, so you should get a lot of rune refills.

Bane isn't very item dependent, so getting wards to avoid ganks (and countergank) for the whole team will usually be your job =)
And remember to get the enfeeble skill up before the enemy carry heroes wake up with some serious damage.

People should stop getting Bloodstone on so many heroes, its so horribly overrated. It requires a lot of farm that 90% of the time you shouldn't be doing on that hero. Bane isn't a carry and he's not a spell spammer like Necro or Lesh, he's a great ganker and disabler. Guinsoo is possible, it depends on your team set up, but with the massive disables you bring, combined with your team, you generally shouldn't be the one to farm it up, there are better carriers for it.

Necronomicon is amazing on Bane. Ult drains mana and does good damage, necros mana burn and do damage, anti ward/invis, its good. Bloodstone and Dagon are not.
