I don't think making the adept another unit that requires 0 brain activity to deal with is a good solution. If they do this, terran players will simply make marauders when they see adepts. They are useful at the beginning of the game when you are the most spread out with the least amount of units. If you can just open with a few marauders every game with concussive shells and you're fine then you're completely eliminating possible builds and micro situations. Marauders will just shred them.
I understand that adepts are difficult to deal with and create situations with lopsided expectations (it's a lot easier to send adepts to each mineral line than it is to follow the shades and predict where they'll go) but that's all over the place in Starcraft. It's what separates the newbs from the pros. Terran drops, ling runbys, early pool builds, proxy rax, oracle/muta/banshee harrass, etc, etc. All of these things are much easier to execute than they are to effectively defend without taking unreasonable losses.
At least if they 3 shot workers, the potential for economic damage will be less, but still possible if the skill gap is big enough, without affecting the mid-late game. I'm not even convinced Terran needs a change at all considering what I deal with regularly without a wall but if Blizzard insists on doing this, they should do what Bunny suggested.
