a week before this seasons GM came out I decided to make a brief comeback just to see if I could get GM again

so I go hard in the paint for a week on the kr server, start off a little rough but old builds still work because people are horrible at this game. End up with a sick winrate playing many KR gms. Didn't get in though, the day of KR GM opening I go on a 6 game losing streak, 3 of which gave the opponent their GM. Rough. NA GM comes out, get in with a win over demuslim. That was easy, why did people say I could no longer get GM again?

ever since then I've just been 6 pooling/leaving games/boosting a friend who's in GM by queuing vs him and leaving.

Then I got an offer for guaranteed $300 a month, gear and jerseys to start practicing for real again.

Thinking to myself, some guaranteed pocket money for a hobby isn't too bad, and i'll be able to start playing in tournaments again too. Why not give it a shot?

Well I gave it a shot.

2 nights of playing starcraft 2 for reals and i've already smashed my desk on several occasions, expected it to break tonight.

this is without a doubt the worst game for someone like me to be playing and I have no idea how I managed to play it for any length of period without going completely insane.

I don't get angry at anything other than Starcraft. I didn't play starcraft for many months, no rage, no anger. I come back to starcraft after several month break and despite knowing anger only makes you play worse and and improve slower (kind of) I still couldn't help myself but get extremely angry at just how bad everyone is and how Blizzard manages to promote being skill less through making skill less builds extremely powerful and also varied.

I compete in the video game world because I love to test my ideas and decision making against others and completely crush them. I hate starcraft 2 because I don't lose to peoples ideas and decision making, instead I lose to copied builds without reactions. I lose to cannon rushes. I lose to proxy 2 rax reaper. I lose to people who realized if they add an incredible amount of gimmicks to their strategy, they will advance through the rankings much quicker than if they try to play straight up macro. I lose to people who don't scout my side of the map until their all in hits. I lose to people who have no business winning any game that they play, ever, for they did not earn anything.

This is the only game I have yet to play where being bad is better than being good as far as ranking up and winning money goes, unless you are the absolute best in the world.

I do love watching Starcraft though. I appreciate all the skill this game has the potential to take and love to see it be showcased. I just can't handle playing it, on ladder or in tournaments. I still remember tournaments where I'd lose to some random guy proxy 2 raxing or cannon rushing and they'd say to me: "I knew I couldn't win otherwise"

well it's a good thing a strategy that a 2 year old can execute just as well as you is what allowed you to actually beat me. Have fun losing in the next round...

and with this, I am gone again. Grandmaster in chess = next goal?

You should consider internetpoker

Baddies still get rewarded for being bad, but only often enough that they'll keep playing despite losing money

it's a glorious glorious concept

Well as it goes cheeses and all ins are retarded, but if you start not giving a fuck and playing like a machine without emotions, just thinking rationally and handling events like raw information, and counteracting it, strictly without emotional influence (kinda like the korean pros), it's pretty good. That is the hardest thing to achieve in this game though.

i thought sc2 got sucked into a giant shit-vortex alongside league of legends and the 5 people who play dota2, and then everyone quit and went to play hearthstone
