I'm pretty new to starcraft and have slowly worked my way up to top gold level. I recently stumbled apon ggtracker.com to see what it would say.

Sadly it says my spending skill(http://ggtracker.com/players/1093244/Stazzle) is like that of a bronze player. I'm finding it hard to get my mineral count lower, i play very reactively (so i build 0 army units and scout well until i see him move out, then instantly counter) and its been working well for me but i do bank a lot of minerals. I simply dont know what to spend it on since all i do for the first minutes is tech up a bit and spend minerals on drones.

When i played terran for a bit it was so much easier to keep minerals/gas low because of constant production and me taking the initiative, so terran scales very linearly

Any advice?

EDIT: The peak you see on ggtracker spending is a little silly, im winning a lot more now that i hit better injects so i get a better economy so i have more unspent resources... so i dont see it as a negative that it went down there)

cause zerg units are free ggtracker shows you arent actually making anything. Hope this helps.

You shouldn't be stockpiling larva unless you are about to tech switch. You are better off with more drones most of the time.

get that swarmost asap,
create creep in less then 1 min, from your base to enemy base (overlord speed+1queen can do that in 32seconds)

and you can get da spore crowler to ensure stealth, and to kill any air units, and ofc to detect stealth
meanwhile you tec up for any shit he may have in plan for da swarmhost, like coruptor(vs toss colosi)/hydra(toss air)/broodlord(zerg swarmhoss)/muta (sleepy terrans)/more swarmhost(stalker/marines/tanks/factory units)
