I'm the guy who has always said, man I really want to take this serious and so something with this game.. since BW

I've been semi-decent, low masters, not much time dedicated... b+ back in broodwar...

I'm nearing 28 years old though... I dont feel my reflexes have slipped, or I'm slow to react to things...

I'm married, have a kid, and have a full time job, but I literally dream about being as good as those guys up on the stage..

I'm really not trying to be naive about it... but... is it too late for me?... My wife has a full-time job that would easily carry both of us... and Scarlett is a prime example of someone who can put the effort in and catch up with the group.

Plz no flame but... should I give it a shot?..

On a serious note, if you don't want to give up your job, don't do it.

You will need to pretty much play all day every day to be as good as these top gamers, especially since you haven't played seriously for a while.

Thats what I inferred by wife being able to carry us.

I would be going full time 14 + hours a day

Well, let's say you did go pro. Then what in 3-5 years when it dies down a little? Resume your college or do you have your degree? Will you be able to pick up where you left off or is it find a job hoping your previous work experience ("Yeah, I was a sc pro gamer" jk) is sufficient?

so you are low masters with little dedication, there are a lot of gm players with little dedication and even alot of pros that go full time that havn't won jack shit in 3 years..

also u have a kid and a wife. Yes you can spend time playing games and enjoying urself even playing games with ur wife/kid an hour here and there. If you are looking for a break then take one, it seems like you are able to do so but if it is glory you are looking for and such then i would suggest fucking urself.

just my 2 coins, but each his own i suppose. If you feel like you won't be content without atleast giving it a try, speak with your wife and give it a try even if it is like 2-3months/half a year or so. If things work out then you take it from there..

I personally wouldn't waste my time on a shit game like this and would instead play a game that isn't dying (dota 2, league of legends etc)

Sounds like a very bad idea at this point in your life.

Thats a totally valid argument... When I was growing up I was amazing at baseball.. I was on route to get a scholarship... but I had an injury, didnt really recover and theres the "what if" thought in my head...

gaming, and starcraft in particular, is starting to feel like that... the "what if" mentality is kicking in, and I don't want it to be another thing later in life I regret not taking a shot at.

Obviously with any passion, there is risk/reward involved... and I'm aware its a high risk / low reward...

But I plan to tell my kids growing up they can be whatever they want to be, yet I dont want to be the one who was too chicken shit to try and do, what I will preach to them.
