Hello guys

I have today purchased the game of Starcraft II. A double-pack with both the games (dno which one is the expansion and which one is the original).

Installing finished about 30 min ago, and as it is right now, I've just launched the Tutorial, cause it suggested that.

My experience however is that Tutorials doesnt really give you that good a clue about the real PVP game. So I'd like some inspiration on all the basic stuff about SC2, if you can help me :)

I have a lot of experience from Warcraft III The Frozen Throne, standard maps in those. And from what I saw on Video, SC2 looks a lot like the same, just with different buildings, creatures and stuff. I'm multiple times Diamond in League of Legends as well.

Any tips are welcome

Regards

Is it in the ladder games that you get rated?

Are there like Normal and Ranked games in LoL, or is it only Ladder (assuming this is Ranked) and Custom games?

EDIT: Would you say Tutorial is a waste of time?

There is a Ranked Ladder and an Unranked queue, yes.

Okay, I'm playing the unranked queue atm.

I'm getting completely wrecked. First game I was Terran (at least thats what he said) and he was Protoss, he rushed my base with some units that just fucked over my marines. I produced like 8 marines and he had 2 of these units and they just fucked me over. Obviously I lost after this.

Second game I picked Protoss and tried to build some of these units. My enemy was Terran, and rushed me with a lot of marines. I started by winning with 2 of my units vs 4 of his marines, but then he came with like 20 units when I only had 5, and he won and ended game.

I'm obviously doing something wrong, can someone help me? What do I build?

I start game with 50 minerals and 7 (is it 7?) workers. Do I put all workers into these mineral things, or what do I do with them?

Do I spam production of new workers with my minerals?

Which buildings do I build, and which buildings are useless?

What kind of tactics can I run?

Please help

The first thing I would do is play both campaigns to get a good feel for the units in Starcraft 2. Both the WoL and HotS campaigns are informative, to a point. It will at least get you a basic familiarity with the units involved.

After that, I would pick one race to play primarily and look up a professional build order for that race, preferably a 2 base timing attack. Practice that build order until you can execute it well against computers, then start playing unranked to get a feel for how other players will react against it. When you feel you've mastered the build in unranked, play ranked for a few games and see where you place. After that come back for more advice :)

play the wings of liberty campaign, it explains everything you can build as terran

and the game in general is very well explained for noobs in the campaign too.

Maybe try it on casual, or normal difficulty.. it should be doable on either!

Well, I played the first 3-4 chapters of campaign, I think it was as terran (those marines etc). I thought it was so ridicilously easy, that I wanted to play some real games (did on normal). But I have no idea about the tactics of SC2, and build orders etc.

Campaign just seemed way too non-challenging :/
