Never really played any of these games before (Aside from tower defense back in the day SCI), what do?

Start off in the practice league or w/e it has you in.

Play till you feel comfortable.

I suggest playing as Protoss, you don't even need to use both hands to win games against players better than you.

Probably not gonna play protoss then. I don't like having a game handed to me like that when I'm just starting out. Sets up false pretenses in my mind.

You won't be as good as you'll think you might be.

Just play Protoss.

After a while you will start to get this feeling as if you actually are that good to play against the players you are playing.

But in reality, it's just the race boosting you to a position that you do not have the skill to maintain without the race.

That's my point. I'm not looking for a handicap just because I'm new. That takes enjoyment out of learning.

Then I'd recommend Terran or Zerg and join us in the constant battle vs Protoss.

to get good, watch pro streams, turnaments, get comfortable with micro/macro, learn timings/scouting/ the meta, multitasking, management. If you are actually good at games and somewhat intelligent as well as put in the effort/time it will probably take you atleast a couple of months to become masters ( which still is pretty bad ). otherwise you will be stuck in metal league for life or until a year+ to become diamond-master which is utter trash

or you simply copy a protoss build and get grandmaster in 2 days. If you learn 2-3 builds you could move to korea, enter GSL and probably get into round of 4
