how long does it take once you hit 1st rank in a league to move to the next league?

right now i am rank 1st in bronze league and am over 100 points ahead of 2nd place. i play at least 2 games a day.

just wondering if its a time thing? or a point thing?

Position in the league isn't the part that matters.

It's your MMR. You can be promoted when you're in rank 27.

The easiest way to explain; The more games you win and the less you lose, the faster you get promoted.

When you can consistently beast higher mmr players your mmr increases and you can eventually rank up.

Better off ignoring points and concentrating on what you're doing wr0ng

yeah, what rick said about mmr.

also, bonus pool pushes your mmr by that amount / 2 or some random math i think

MMR is your match making rating.

It's the points that actually place you against your opponent, ie: your true skill level.

Blizzard just doesn't let us see it directly, but we can approximate and guess fairly well based upon who your opponents are and w/l.

The points in your league are general points that are close to your skill level, but not really exactly what it is since blizzard (for some reason) doesn't want to let us know what our REAL skill is.

Yes and you might even skip leagues and go straight to gold under this scenario.

the MMR system is all that matters, the leagues and rankings are all there to make people think they are getting better when their actual MMR probably isnt moving much at all
