wondering if there would be any benefit to goin +1 armour when goin mech since it will work for your vikings and banshee (tank extra queen shots) if you chose to get one, instead of going the traditional +1 weapons first? just lookin for some other peoples opinions,

Depends on your strategy, if you count on the things you listed it's cool.
But you really can go either way. Most people get double armory asap, so it does not really matter.

If you are facing protoss it would be worth i. Cause you want banshees to take out the imos.
