Always wondered this. Both Korea and Europe have school curriculum for English since elementary school, but Europeans generally seem to be very fluent in English after only high school education, whereas Koreans are not. It's most evident among sc2 pros. What do you think is the key difference is between the two region in terns of English education?

Many places in Europe have English speaking people where Korea does not. Also better teachers / more dedicated students etc.

Well, idk about teachers, but most Koreans students go to prep schools and stuff after school for hours for additional English/math education. So, wouldn't Korean students generally dedicate more time and effort in English learning than European students? Also, there may be more English speaking people in Europe, but they speak their own language among them, so I'm not sure why that's relevant. For example, French people would speak French when conversing regardless whether they spoke English well or not.

They speak regularly with people from other countries too.. Koreans would just speak with other Koreans. Stephano doesn't speak only French does he? Common language around Europe is English.

I took a few years of Spanish but that doesn't mean I wouldn't rely on a translator if I were on a stage similar to MVP.

I guess that's true, but the difference in fluency btw the 2 regions is so large that can't be the biggest difference. I wondered if European schools focus on speaking and conversations whereas Korean schools focus on grammar and reading.

For maybe 3 hours a week and they only use it in those classes. To really learn a language you need to speak it actively and I wouldn't qualify 3 hours a week as active.
