Campaign if you don't know how to play, only really helps with terran though.
And don't skip the practice league for 10-15 games.

as a relatively new player i will say these things

- you can try the campaign based on your confidence going into the game..it's good to get a feel of everything + hotkeys etc
- make sure u look over all the settings, a couple are musts like game timer / health bars..flyer helper, maybe a couple more
- protoss is probably the easiest first race.. but play whatever you like best and whatever you're most comfortable with. certain races can sometimes dominate certain leagues but at the highest level they all win zerg op
- prepare to get cheesed
- do you watch pro sc2? i love watching it and would definitely recommend it..it could definitely help you pick your race and can teach you a thing or two..though some of the casters are borderline useless

Its a lot easier on your cpu to run D3 then sc2, because in d3 you control one guy and there is no interaction with the monsters, it just shows there animation.

So sc2 is actually hard on your processesor than D3, as for your graphics card you just change quality of the in game graphics. I figure there about the same.

Watching Starcraft 2 vods/streams/casted games helps a lot. This allows you to get a feel and understanding of what is common/normal and allows you to learn the proper responses to various strategy. Don't get too mad when you lose, especially when it's to cheesy stuff like proxies or early pools. Every race has pro's and cons, so once you figure out what you are good at, and what you're not so good at, you can determine which race suits you. For example, Terran requires very quick control to do things such as split marines and kite, Protoss requires great precission to hit forcefields perfectly. Zerg requires you to scout and not engage horribly, often times you want to surround the enemy by doing flanks. Obviously this isn't all the races are, but each race requires certain skill sets to do well.

also, don't expect to get "decent" in a few days lmao.
high masters players play this decent, not underneath.
