I fail to see how going to college 4 years later than someone else even slightly matters. So you will be 24/25ish rather than 18/19, who cares.
Everyone who i have ever talked to that has actually served in the military, no matter the branch, has said that it was the best time of their life. I have a family history of military and quite a few of my friends went Navy/Army/Air Force. They all fucking love/loved it.
How does it matter?.... well it matters a lot. all your friends, will have gone to college. Graduated, meanwhile you're in another country, forced to abandon ever hoping to hold a steady relationship, as well as making it obvious your education will be on hold, maybe never get it either, depending on if you're deployed or not, etc.
TLDR; If you want to go into the military, that's different than if you don't...
4 years is a lot of time. (college wise)
