It really can't. Reactor hellion/marauder rapes nexus first so hard up the butt, 7 minute marine timings, marine/hellion/medi pressure, you can coinflip on cloak banshee. Playing safe as Terran is what makes Protoss players even be able to Nexus first because if if you play correctly and you open gas first you should always beat a nex first IMO~

Taking a fast third base is a bad response IMO, you're just playing how the P wants to you play.

An early 3rd just works out better.

I was talking about nexus first, yeah 1 gate nex should hold most things. I think it's fine to take early third against 1gate nex but against nex first I think aggression is much better.

In general though I just kind of hate 1rax expand, why not CC first? You literally can't be punished, like it holds everything so easily. You can't even 4 gate it really, it's so much better than 1 rax expand, I just don't get it. If you're trying to play standard why wouldn't you CC first?

I think you should either CC first or open gas.

Every time I CC first the protoss either 4 gates or voidrays.
