people who can't get masters on their own shouldnt really bother with spending more money on the game as they are clearly not talented enough to compete, then why spend money on this
and all your comparsions are retarded guys, this is a fucking computer game, not a musical instrument, there is a huge difference in learning to play the guitar or learning to play a computer game

Now you're just trying to change the focus because your initial points were slammed sir.

you didnt include the money arguement into your point
neither did you include that you can read two articles and know everything required
i was saying all along that its a complete waste both in terms of time and money to purchase coaching below masters because you CAN do it yourself, for free, because everything is about practicing, doesnt matter if somebody tells you to make workers, you will still need to spend time practicing that shit, and the time you save by that is marginal.

Look, it's clear you have mega bias and can't let people do their own shit for whatever reason.

But, there's nothing wrong with wanting to be better, even if you won't compete. And as mentioned, a coach accelerates the rate of learning.
Maybe some people wanna be able to be a certain league, for many this is a big deal, being diamond, plat, masters etc... Everyone has different goals.
Maybe they wanna be good enough to do builds similar to that of pros. Honestly it doesn't even matter what peoples goals are.

Coaching is there to help people improve, and it works at all levels. Regardless of if you think these people have no talent, skill, it's not worth it. It really doesn't matter what shit you say about it.

At the end of the day, coaching works for everyone and in different ways. And it's not just about winning games. It's about learning about the game, learning what to do better etc... Mechanics come with practice etc.

I really don't know why it's so hard for you to grasp this concept.

There is no money argument. Some people have money to spend. Why give them a hard time or make them feel bad about it? Maybe they value their goals that the money is worth it.

As for articles. everyone learns different. You're only looking at how YOU learn it seems.
Don't take this the wrong way but it seems like you lack experience in teaching others/coaching etc... You can't use the exact same method for teaching with every person because everyone is different.

i dont know why is it so hard to understand that its nothing else but a waste
and you are the one biased here adam, because you are the one wanting to make money from those guys.
ripping off people for obsolete efforts isnt nice

also i have taught people to play sc2 and some irl stuff too, so i have experience and that makes me say this, some things are meant to be learnt on your own

So going school every day and practicing multiplying while teacher helps you and corrects mistakes is stupid right?

Idk what the educational system is like in the third world.

But here in the great North, I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Old but good.

If I wanted to get super good and didn't mind the money spent, I would certainly try to purchase coaching from some of those gsl koreans.

Personally, I think the idea that virtually anyone can achieve masters league is wrong. It's just not set up that way. And even if everyone could achieve master league, what's to say they wouldn't get there faster if they had a coach?

Starcraft isn't as simple as following a checklist such as this:

  • no supply blocks
  • non-stop worker production
  • spend money
  • map vision/minimap awareness
  • scout/prepare/micro/whatever

It's just not that simple. These things are all happening at the same time, not one after another. Once you introduce a good opponent who knows how to fuck with you, these items on the checklist don't suddenly become automatic. There are times when it is not a good idea to leave a situation to tend to another one even if it is a macro mechanic. It's more like a balance of APM. Everyone falls somewhere on the APM spectrum and obviously not everyone is capable of doing everything at once. It's important to figure out what YOU should do any given situation given YOUR abilities. If you're too slow or too poor at multitasking to deal with hellions without your mutalisks, then don't harrass with them. I don't see why a coach wouldn't help make these decisions easier for someone, regardless of league.
