I haven't played League but pretty much any game is better than SC2.  Blizzard completely dropped the ball so hard and wasn't  able to live up to the Starcraft name.  Everything until now was fueled by hype. The game has no real longevity.

I agree sc2 was a huge disappointment.

anything blizzard these days is but with how awesome sc1 was i was particularly disappointed with sc2

probably because it's team based, whereas sc2 is 1v1

You can't compare the games.
It's true.
Mechanics are on lightyears distance.
But grinding the lol ladder is way harder when you gotta win 1v5, i've been playing for 1 year to get gold and another year to get plat(and it was hard).
Been playing sc2 for 1 week and i've been in gold top 25 already.
It's a 1v1 game, so it just depends on your skill, lol and dota are influenced by the rest of the team, so it's obviously harder to grind.

once upon a time solo queue was actually solo queue, you couldn't party with your friend

Im leaning twords the casual aspect of it.  Games now a days are so dumbed down, I think the majority of people getting into games want to be good right away which is why LoL and games like it are so popular.  compare the first cod game with the ones that are out now, or vanilla wow to MOP, even sc2 with SC1 (12 unit control groups ect).

Thats why i think LoL is more popular than dota, any 14 year old can pick it up and do fairly decent, which wont happen in dota.  fewer people have the attention span to get good at dota

Lots of instant gratification and a small learning curve go a long way.

i never played original cod but wow vanilla vs wow now = more time required to achieve things, not skill

SC1 to SC2 now = better mechanics and more advanced features available in current time as opposed to back then, so you're pretty much arguing that a lack of utility and features is good

wow, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about in this post. literally everything you just said is either wrong or completely unimportant. allow me to educate you, since you seem to have absorbed nothing up until now:

1. vanilla wow took forever to level as well. there was no arena, so people spent MONTHS grinding bgs every single day to get R14. it was quantity (lots of bg wins) vs quality @ lvl 70+ (arena, which could get you glad mmr in under 100 games ez)
also, the main raids were 40 man, which took an eternity to get going and recoup after a wipe (running slow ass ghosts).

although i hate new wow, it still requires skill to get glad/any other notable pvp achiev. so what you said really doesn't make much sense.

sc2 has better convenience mechanics (workers, control groups being more than 12 or w/e)

what you failed to mention is that sc2 UMS games are shit. the system is setup like shit and has basically killed the mapmaking community. so many shit maps are 'featured' while great maps are left to rot because people never see them. basically sucks in every way.

and i am not at all surprised people think sc1 is better when it comes to gameplay. the micro battles were far cooler and less game-ending. you could have lots of little fights whereas a lot of sc2 games are decided very quickly in one huge battle.

i personally enjoy sc2 more, but i often find myself missing sc1 because it was a fabulously balanced and well thought out game.

yeah.
