muta is incredibly gay if the terran goes mech and you can surprise him when he has only like 1-2 thors.

tbh, the reason i like muta for zvt is because of mech.

it's very abusive to their opener and early thor phase like you mentioned, and it's also such an easy/economical transition into hive.

I think the first 4-5 minutes of ZvZ where it's ling/bling vs ling/bling is the most micro intensive of any race and any MU, and then mass roach wars.
So over a long game, I would agree that ZvT APM > ZvZ APM, but in the beginning ZvZ takes the most.

eh, i feel like the ling/bling early game has been more or less phased out by the shift into 15 hatch instead of 14/14. i suppose the reason it feels so micro-intensive is because if you make a small mistake you lose half your lings and get immediately allin'd from what began as normal poking/aggression.

most of my apm is from efficient mechanics, imo.

because savecam injecting is more efficient and tighter with regard to queen placement, i prefer it to backspace injecting or one queen/one hotkey because i like having 1-5 for units. one queen one hotkey can take upwards of 3 hotkeys, more often than not hindering the player to 1-4 for units, and sometimes forcing you to reach to 8, which any brood war player can tell you is the most unpleasant thing on earth.

so i use f1-4 for hatchery savecams, and i use ` for my creep line.

to be honest, i feel like it's the best and tightest way to perform zerg mechanics, and i've found it leads to lower injection gaps because it takes a little more thought, it's much harder to forget.

so, because my apm is mostly from mechanics, it's clear which matchups are the most apm-intensive for zerg.

zvz < zvp < zvt

I have 400 apm with 60% redundancy.

I could play zerg and it would be maybe 300 like you.

If zerg required micro, maybe it would take the same apm.

Point being, neither race "requires" MORE apm.

The way I play projects a large APM number like you (so I could make the claim Protoss requires the most because I play at 350+)

but some people like WhiteRa play at like half the APM as you but plays 500% better.

Terran is just harder than Zerg and Protoss because Terran sucks, and Z + P are easy.

well, i'm not claiming that playing zerg requires more apm. i'm just sharing from a zerg perspective where our potential apm-intensive tasks lie.

i feel like it's also a good time to make the age-old distinction that apm != skill

e: and obviously as a zerg main player, i'd definitely say that zerg is the easiest race.

e2: similarly, i find zerg easier than toss which is easier than terran for me, which is likely because terran is my last pick offrace, and i've only recently started playing terran at all

I'd rape the one with a tire iron who had the idea of thors being the counter to mutalisks (worst fucking design in the whole game)

not anymore until fungal growth gets to be a projectile.
