They are stupid strong against early marines. Maybe a build time increase, or some sort of decrease in damage/increase in hp a little to avoid the widow one-shot problem.

I don't just want to flat out nerf them, but more rework them.

Also proxy SG is near-impossible to find and not easy to infer either by scouting the base

Yeah I find that to be the problem. Not necessarily the damage it does to workers.
Blizzard should really make a separate unit type for workers to make balance easier.

A big part of the problem is the greedy meta game. Proxy stargate should get more play and have more success and force players to play safer. Then it won't be able to do much of anything.

There's no good way for terran to get out a large amount of marines early, and if they do, it delays the command center, gas, tech etc. And the marines themselves, unlike stalkers or zerglings, have no utility in the early game until stim and medivacs complete.

Bunkers and depot walls are the norm because of the terran's SUPER fragile early game

Let them cry all they want about the voidray, David Kim already said publicly that they don't see any problems with the void rays and won't nerf it until something "drastic" happens.
