Actually I'm still thinking myself to be clever after that one, since I just made it up because I didn't know the actual word mystify, the phrase also exists in hungarian (and is actually quite similar), and it is probably coming from latin and considering the fact that more than half of the english vocabulary just came from latin, it wasn't a stupid move even though it failed. Anyways, anyone mocking who's first language is English and probably doesn't speak any other languages fluently is just funny
