most of these things are negligible and what good players do is just mule their most exposed base because its the most likely base to die
the base will still have better than optimal mining because its a high yield base, it will just mine out faster
its not like the mules dont work as hard, the scvs just dont work as hard as long
Of course if you are not feeling confident in your capability to defend that position it's okay to go "mine&run" but if you can entrench yourself there it's a position you would like to hold anyways, high yield bases are forward positions mostly, securing an aggressive foothold is always good strategically (I'm taking antiga shipyard like maps as an example here, because neo planet is just a weird map).
