well you also want to have the 16 workers mining the high yield base to be mining there as long as possible and dropping mules would drain the mineral patches faster but dropping tons of mules at your nat and making mineral patches completely exhaust is also not something you want to do

most of these things are negligible and what good players do is just mule their most exposed base because its the most likely base to die

the base will still have better than optimal mining because its a high yield base, it will just mine out faster

its not like the mules dont work as hard, the scvs just dont work as hard as long

Of course if you are not feeling confident in your capability to defend that position it's okay to go "mine&run" but if you can entrench yourself there it's a position you would like to hold anyways, high yield bases are forward positions mostly, securing an aggressive foothold is always good strategically (I'm taking antiga shipyard like maps as an example here, because neo planet is just a weird map).

but when you consider that you're going to get the resources regardless and you only losing some mining efficiency of 16 workers for however long it takes to mine out the base minus however long it would take to mine it out with mules, its really not worth it if the base is the most likely to be targeted

I might remind you he was still saying protoss is really the retarded race no matter if you play against it with terran or zerg LOLOLOL
and I don't actually mind Idra being in business.

He played protoss start of beta and sucked hard with it... who cares what Idra of all people says.
